How He Got the Gold: As supporting actor in a drama series, for playing Dr. Steven Kiley in ABC's Marcus Welby, M.D., in 1970.

Now for the Noms: Brolin has been nominated as an actor five times; four times for Marcus Welby, M.D., and once as lead actor in a miniseries or movie in 2004 for playing Ronald Reagan in Showtime's The Reagans.

Winning Night: "I was nominated and won for the pilot of Marcus Welby, M.D., which was so exciting. Nobody had ever heard of me, and here I was being nominated for a pilot! It was a doubly thrilling night. I don't even know if I had much to say when I won — it certainly wasn't an earth-moving speech. But I'm my own worst critic."

On Being a Narrator: "Susan and Robert Downey, Jr. [executive producers of the Netflix series Sweet Tooth] called and said, 'You're going to do this, and that's all there is to it.' Who knew that the show was going to be number one in the world? I just thought it was a very good project with a great message about love and family: who you care about and who cares about you is the key thing."

Changing It Up: "I'm not really good at doing the same show over and over again. There's nothing better to me than getting a plane ticket somewhere and going to work with people you've never met before, weaving it all together and hoping it turns out."

Wonderful Life: "Every day working on set has been the best day of my life, except for my wedding and the birth of my children. I just love working in this business."
