Tuesday, July 8, 9:30 AM PT – From Scene to Screen Inside the Art of Screen Scoring with Carlos Rafael Rivera
At the heart of every sheet of music is a story. Learn how those notes jump off the page and onto the screen in this masterclass presented by the Television Academy Foundation that will explore the creative, professional, and technical aspects of composing music for the screen. Emerging composers will come away with practical tools for success in the music and entertainment industries.
Emmy and Grammy winner Carlos Rafael Rivera will lead the interactive session to share how he has honed the craft of composition and storytelling while navigating the creative process in Hollywood. A protégé of Randy Newman, Rivera has amassed an award-winning portfolio of credits, including Lessons in Chemistry, Griselda and The Queen’s Gambit, one of Netflix’s most viewed limited series of all time. This hands-on seminar will explore the composer’s vital role in telling compelling stories through music.
