Social Buzz: Top TV Shows, February 22-28, 2015

Hellos and goodbyes.

Spring is right around the corner, which means it’s been quite a busy time for television, with exciting premieres and tearful farewells as we bid goodbye to some of our favorites.

This week, we focused in on the premieres of The Voice and The Night Shift, as well as the finales of Sleepy Hollow, Agent Carter, Girlfriend’s Guide to Divorce, Parks and Recreation, and How to Get Away with Murder.

We wanted to see if fans were buzzing about:

  • Abby and Jake’s final decision and reluctance to sign their divorce papers on the finale of Girlfriend’s Guide to Divorce
  • Ivchenko going to prison and ending up with Armin Zola as his cell mate on the finale of Marvel’s Agent Carter
  • The doctors ready to scrub in on the outset of The Night Shift
  • The new foursome of Ichabod, Abbie, Jenny, and Irving on Sleepy Hollow
  • The revelation Lila Stangard’s killer in the twisted ending of the two-hour finale of How to Get Away with Murder
  • Parting ways with the hilarious cast of Parks and Recreation in its series finale
  • The newest blind audition triumphs and tragedies marking the beginning of The Voice’s eighth season

Ths Social Totals

We can see that the season 8 premiere of The Voice encouraged fans to sing on social, as the show received over 1.3MM social engagements on Facebook and Twitter, claiming the majority of market share with 42.8%.

Active Audiences

Though The Voice sang its way to the top in terms of sheer numbers, there was a different story when we accounted for audience size.

On Facebook, The Night Shift saved some serious social engagement with 468.6 engagements per 1K fans. On Twitter, fans were vocal about their farewells with Parks and Recreation with 872.6 engagements per 1K followers.
