Diversity and Inclusion Unscripted Internship Program
The Television Academy Foundation's Diversity and Inclusion Unscripted Internship Program provides full-time internships in Unscripted/Reality Television to students from low-income backgrounds who are attending college/university within Southern California. The program offers students in-depth exposure to professional television production during an eight-week, paid summer period in Los Angeles. Students must demonstrate a commitment to promoting the voices and stories of underrepresented communities and increasing diversity and inclusion in the television industry. Eligible applicants must be graduating from a college/university within Southern California with a degree conferred by June 2022.
Finalist notifications will be made in mid-March
Internships will take place June 20 - August 12, 2022

Categories
CASTING
Site: Production company or office of casting director
Activities: Exposure to the casting process including research, scheduling, interviewing and logging. Heavy phones, zooms, clerical duties.
Desirable Background: Organizational, people and social media skills. An expressed interest in the human psyche. Liberal Arts or Communication background.
DEVELOPMENT
Site: Production company or studio
Activities: Assist in development of unscripted programs. Work with production company and/or network programming staff in conception and execution of programs.
Desirable Background: Demonstrated knowledge of unscripted programs. An ability and willingness to research unfamiliar topics and write short briefs on findings. Working knowledge of Keynote or PowerPoint for presentations. Applicants are encouraged to upload short writing samples and a video link to any reality/unscripted work samples produced (no more than 5 min. in total), if available.
POST PRODUCTION
Site: Studio or production company
Activities: Observe post production of unscripted shows. Exposure to film/tape non-linear, color correction and motion graphics systems. Opportunities to sit with editors and learn how the offline process, online and color correction process, and deliverables process works.
Desirable Background: Working knowledge on Avid or other professional editing. Working knowledge with Pro Tools for sound editing. All applicants required to upload a video link of work samples (no more than 5 min. in total.)
PRODUCTION
Site: Studio or production company
Activities: Exposure to production of unscripted specials, segments or series. Can include research, studio/location production, and post production.
Desirable Background; Previous experience in unscripted production, and/or research, and/or writing, and computer skills. Working knowledge of Keynote or PowerPoint for presentations. Applicants are encouraged to upload short writing samples and a video link to work samples (no more than 5 min. in total), if available.
