Rutger Hauer
Rutger Hauer was a Dutch actor.
Hauer was probably best known for his role in the 1982 film Blade Runner, in which his largely improvised "tears in the rain" speech was particularly memorable. He also appeared in numerous films on both sides of the Atlantic, including Nighthawks (with Sylvester Stallone), The Osterman Weekend (with John Hurt), Flesh & Blood (with Jennifer Jason Leigh), and Ladyhawke (with Michelle Pfieffer).

In television, Hauer often appeared in stories of the World War II era. He was nominated for Golden Globes for his performances in Escape From Sobibor and Fatherland. More recent television appearances included roles in the miniseries Salem's Lot, as well as True Blood, and Galavant.
Hauer died July 19, 2019, in Beetsterzwaag, Netherlands. He was 75.
