Michael Mantenuto was an actor best known for his role as Jack O’Callahan in the 2004 Disney film Miracle.

The movie was based on the true story of Herb Brooks (played by Kurt Russell), a player-turned-coach who led the 1980 U.S. Olympic hockey team to victory over the much-favored Soviet Union team. The event is famously referred to as the "Miracle on Ice."

Mantenuto went on to appear in the television movie Dirtbags, with Balthazar Getty and Melissa Joan Hart, and the 2008 film Surfer, Dude, starring Matthew McConaughey, Woody Harrelson and Willie Nelson.

After Surfer, Dude, Mantenuto quit acting and enlisted in the Army, serving in the Special Forces.

He died April 24, 2017, in Des Moines, Washington. He was 35.
