Michael Hotopp

Michael J. Hotopp was one of the most prolific and talented production, scenic, lighting, and costume designers in the entertainment industry. He created designs for Broadway, Off-Broadway, national touring and regional theatrical productions, concerts, television programs, corporate events, and theatrical venues. His signature style was an inspired combination of color, light, architecture, technical innovations, and whimsy that integrated seamlessly into a director's vision and an actor's performance.

Michael's television work included set and production designs for the 1988, 1992, 1994 and 1998 Winter Olympic Games for CBS (winner, Outstanding Production Design / Art Directors, Sports Emmy Awards, 1994 and 1998); Liza Minnelli Live! From Radio City Music Hall (nominee, Outstanding Individual Achievement in Art Direction for a Variety or Music Program, Emmy Awards); host sets for Oprah Winfrey, Queen Latifah, Katie Couric, and others; CBS This Morning; Sports Illustrated's 40 for the Ages, NBC (winner, Outstanding Production Design / Art Directors, Sports Emmy Award); Interviews I'll Never Forget for CBS' Eye on People; The 2012 Republican Presidential Debate from Dartmouth College, NH; the Allstate Studio for WFAN Radio Sports simulcasts on MSG Network; SportsNation, X Games, NFL32; Kia NBA Countdown and many others for ESPN.
