Marcia Nasatir was a groundbreaking studio executive, the industry's first female production vice-president.

Nasatir worked for United Artists, Orion Pictures, and Johnny Carson’s production company, and as an independent producer.

In 1974, Nasatir was a literary agent representing screenwriters including William Goldman, Robert Towne, and Lorenzo Semple Jr. and director Sydney Pollack when she was asked by United Artists senior vice-president of production Mike Medavoy to join the studio as a story editor. She said she would, but only if she could be a vice president. Medavoy agreed.

Nasatir served as a board member of the SAG-AFTRA Foundation from 2013-17.

She also served as one half of the movie critic duo "Reel Geezers" on YouTube with longtime friend (and former client) Lorenzo Semple Jr.

Nasatir died August 3, 2021 in Woodland Hills, California. She was 95.
