Lee Wallace

Lee Wallace was an American actor.

He is perhaps best known for portraying city mayors in the films The Taking of Pelham One, Two, Three (1974) and Batman (1989).

A graduate of New York University, Wallace also studied under Lee Strasberg before joining the U.S. Army. Upon his discharge, Wallace spent time in regional theater before moving to Broadway and appearing in Some of My Best Friends and A Teaspoon Every Four Hours.

He appeared in a handful of television movies before landing a role in Klute (1971), and would appear on the big screen in other films such as The Happy Hooker (1975), Private Benjamin (1980), Daniel (1983), and Used People (1992).

In television, Wallace had a recurring role in Ryan's Hope, and guest starred in Kojak, Mrs. Columbo, The Equalizer, and Law & Order.

Wallace died December 20, 2020 in New York City, New York. He was 90.
