John Saxon was an American actor.

Appearing in more than 200 projects over a 60-year career, Saxon is perhaps best known for his work on Enter the Dragon (1973), A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984), and The Appaloosa (1966).

He had recurring roles in several television series including Dr. Kildare, The Bold Ones: The New Doctors, Wonder Woman, Vega$, Hardcastle and McCormick, Dynasty, Falcon Crest, and Melrose Place and guest starred in an number of shows including Burke's Law, Bonanza, Ironside, The Virginian, Kung Fu, Gunsmoke, The Six Million Dollar Man, Fantasy Island, The A-Team, Matlock, Murder, She Wrote, and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.

On the big screen, Saxon appeared in several Wes Craven films, reprising his role as Lt. Donald Thompson in A Nightmare on Elm Street: Dream Warriors and playing himself in Wes Craven's New Nightmare (1994). He also teamed with Robert Redford and Sydney Pollack in War Hunt (1962) and The Electric Horseman (1997).

Saxon was also seen in Beverly Hills Cop III (1994), No Escape, No Return (1993), The Arrival (1991), Aftershock (1990), Nightmare Beach (1989), The Big Score (1983), Battle Beyond the Stars (1980), Joe Kidd (1972), The Cardinal (1963), and Rock, Pretty Baby! (1956).

Saxon died July 25, 2020, in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. He was 83.
