John Madden
John Madden was an American football coach and sports commentator.
In 1967, he became a linebackers coach, moving up to head coach just two years later, for the Oakland Raiders, a team with which he would serve for 10 years. The Raiders never had a losing year under his coaching. Retiring at age 42, he took his first broadcasting job with CBS.
In 2002, he joined ABC's Monday Night Football, and later moved to NBC's Sunday Night Football.
Madden was a 16 time Emmy winner. He called eight Super Bowl games for CBS and Fox networks. In all, Madden provided commentary for over 500 NFL games.

In addition to his broadcast and video game fame, he had a run as a commercial spokesman for Miller Lite beer.
Madden died December 28, 2021 in Pleasanton, California. He was 85.
