Harriet Frank Jr. was an American screenwriter and producer.

She is best known for her Academy Award nominated work writing the films Hud (1963) and Norma Rae (1980), shared with her husband, Irving Ravetch.

A graduate of UCLA, Frank entered the MGM young writer's training program after World War II where she and met and married Ravetch. She would write independently for a decade before collaborating with Ravetch on their first venture The Long, Hot Summer (1958).

She also wrote for the television shows Schlitz Playhouse, Matinee Theatre, and The Loretta Young Show,

Frank died January 28, 2020, in Los Angeles, California. She was 96.
