Gerald Lee Taylor was a picture editor best known for his work on the 1979 television movie The Miracle Worker, starring Patty Duke and Melissa Gilbert.

The telefilm chronicled the true story of Helen Keller, the deaf, blind and mute author and activist, and Anne Sullivan, the devoted instructor who taught her how to communicate when she was a child.

The movie was nominated for a Golden Globe, and five Emmy Awards, winning in three categories, including outstanding drama special and outstanding lead actress in a special, for Patty Duke.

His work was also nominated for an American Cinema Editors’ Eddie Award.

Taylor died February 22, 2017. He was 83.
