Prior to Leave It to Beaver, Bank had roles in such TV series as The Ford Television Theatre, Father Knows Best and Bachelor Father.

When Beaver ended, Bank withdrew from entertainment and became a securities trader. However, in later years he reprised the role off Lumpy in The New Leave It to Beaver series, and appeared in the 1983 made-for-TV movie High School U.S.A., along with Tony Dow and other former child and adolescent television stars.

Bank died April 13, 2013, in Los Angeles. He was 71.
