The Grammy-nominated rapper’s music was heard in the series South Park, Daria, Without a Trace, Cold Case, The Wire, Friday Night Lights, The Mindy Project, Shameless, American Dad!, and Godfather of Harlem and in the films Any Given Sunday (1999), Gone in 60 Seconds (2000), Down to Earth (2001), Hardball (2001), Coach Carter (2005), This is the End (2013), Deadpool 2 (2018), and Hamilton (2020).

As an actor, DMX guest starred in the television series Eve, Third Watch, and Fresh Off the Boat and he appeared in the films Belly (1998), Romeo Must Die (2000), Exit Wounds (2001), and Cradle to Grave (2003).

DMX died January 23, 2021, in White Plains, New York. He was 50.
