Bess Myerson was an actress, a former Miss America, and a frequent guest on game shows in the 1960s.
Myerson was the first Jewish Miss America, and entered the pageant hoping to win the scholarship offered. She used her scholarship money to study at the Juilliard School in New York City.
After appearing in several movies and television shows in the 1960s, she was a regular guest on such game shows as What's My Line and The Match Game.
Myerson later served as Commissioner of Cultural Affairs in New York, until a scandal cut short her political career.
