Arlene Golonka
Arlene Golonka was an American actress.
She was best known for her portrayal of Millie, the waitress on the classic CBS sitcom The Andy Griffith Show and its spinoff, Mayberry R.F.D.
Golonka studied acting at Chicago’s Goodman Theatre before moving to New York, where she appeared on and off-Broadway in productions of The Night Circus, Take Me Along, Come Blow Your Horn, and One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. While in New York, she appeared on television in Car 54, Where Are You?, The Doctors, The Flying Nun, and The Big Valley.

After moving to Los Angeles, Golonka continued making guest appearances on television, in episodes of Get Smart, Barnaby Jones, The Flying Nun, That Girl, Maude, Alice, The Rockford Files, One Day at a Time, Taxi, The Rookies, The FBI, M*A*S*H, Cannon, Love American Style, That Girl, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Maude, Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman, Alice, and Murder, She Wrote. Her last television appearance was on a 2005 episode of The King of Queens.
On film, Golonka was featured in The Busy Body (with Sid Caesar), Hang ‘Em High (with Clint Eastwood), Airport ’77, The In-Laws (with Alan Arkin and Peter Falk) and Separate Ways (with Karen Black), among others.
Golonka died May 31, 2021, in West Hollywood, California. She was 85.
