Richard King was an American businessman and entrepreneur.

A founding partner of his family-owned King World Productions, he and the syndication powerhouse were behind television programs such as Jeopardy!, and The Oprah Winfrey Show.

Before beginning a career in radio, King played semi-pro football and joined the U.S. Army. He would go on to serve on the King World board, and in 1983, when King World was primarily syndicating The Little Rascals, the company acquired the rights to Wheel of Fortune.
