Re-branding Yourself as a Writer
About The Event
Governors Judalina Neira and Regina Y. Hicks, along with the Writers Peer Group Executive Committee, invite members to:
Re-branding Yourself as a Writer
Have you ever wanted to write for a different genre (i.e., transition from animation to live-action, or comedy to hour drama) but have been unsure how to make the switch? Join us for a discussion with our group of panelists who have successfully switched writing genres themselves, or helped their clients make the move. Panelists will offer tips and advice on how to land a staffing gig without an existing credit in the genre, using publicity to assist with your re-brand, and how best to work with your team of representatives as you pivot to the writing career of your dreams.
Panelists:*
- Lara Olsen, Boy Meets World, 90210, Spinning Out
- Yamara Taylor, Saved by the Bell, Dave, Black-ish
- Carla Waddles, Good Girls, Half & Half, That's So Raven
- Joy Fehily, Joy Fehily Management & Consulting
- Barry Kotler, Agent, CAA
Moderated by:
- Nicole Demerse, Utopia Falls, Fugget About It, Degrassi: The Next Generation
