A student of Columbia College in Chicago, Waters landed in Hollywood writing for the VH1 television series The Breaks and Hood Adjacent with James Davis.
She is perhaps best known as a staff writer on the NBC television series This is Us, with Sterling K. Brown and Mandy Moore, and the Amazon show Kidding, starring Jim Carrey.
