Ty Hardin
Ty Hardin was an American actor best known as the star of the 1958 to 1962 ABC/Warner Brothers western television series Bronco.
Born Orison Whipple Hungerford Jr. in New York City, he grew up in Texas, where his family moved when he was an infant. He went on to play college football and serve in the army during the Korena War.
Hardin got his start as an actor when, while attending a costume party, he caught the eye of a talent scout for Paramount Pictures.
In addition to Bronco, he appeared on the series Maverick, Cheyenne, Sugarfoot, 77 Sunset Strip and The Love Boat, as well as the films Last Train from Gun Hill, The Chapman Report, Berserk, PT 109 and Battle of the Bulge.
In 1969 he toplined his own Australian TV series, Riptide, in which he played an American charter boat operator.
Hardin died August 3, 2017, in Huntington Beach, California. He was 87.
