Gil Noble, Longtime Figure at New York Station WABC

Over more than 40 years at New York's Channel 7, Noble was a reporter, anchor and host of the public affairs series Like It Is.

Gil Noble a TV journalist who spent more that 40 years at New York City station WABC, died April 5, 2012. He was 80.

Over the years with the ABC affiliate station, Noble was a reporter, anchor and host of Like It Is, a groundbreaking public affairs series devoted to topics about, and of concern to, African Americans.

According to the New York Times, Noble's Like It Is interviews included Lena Horne, Fannie Lou Hamer, Bill Cosby, Sammy Davis Jr., Muhammad Ali, Andrew Young, Dizzy Gillespie and Stokely Carmichael.
