With 4.6MM social interactions generated for the shows aired this holiday week, Hollywood sure gave us a lot of great content to binge on between burger bites and scoops of apple pie.
Social audiences posted and tweeted their points of view about one premiere and five popular finales, including a bittersweet end to one of cable’s top series.
We scoured the Facebook and Twitter activity of The Voice, Dancing with the Stars, The Flash, Mad Men, The Bachelorette, and black-ish to see which of the following was most impactful:
- Sawyer Fredricks edging out Meghan, Joshua and Koryn for the win on the season finale of The Voice
- Rumer Willis and Valentin Chmerkovskiy shimmying their way to victory on the season finale of Dancing with the Stars
- Barry’s mission go back in time to save his mother on the season finale of The Flash
- The end of Don Draper’s journey on the series finale of Mad Men
- The double-bachelorette twist on the season premiere of The Bachelorette
- The tale of how great-great grandpa made a risky bet on the family’s future on the season finale of black-ish
The Social Totals
The socialverse was clearly in the mood for some competition, as 2.0MM engagements erupted for the four contestants facing the music on the finale The Voice—contributing to a 42.7% market share. Reality rival Dancing with the Stars cha-chaed up some chatter as well, with 1.5MM engagements for a 31.7% market share.
Active Audiences
When we break down which show’s fans and followers were more active in relation to size, the reign of reality shows continues. Dancing with the Stars stepped up social interactions the most overall with 462.4 engagements per 1K users, while The Bachelorette got the most love on Twitter with 267.0 engagements per 1K followers.
