Me and My Emmy: Peewee Piemonte

This stunt coordinator appreciates how far he's come.

Primetime Emmy Tally: One

How He Got the Gold: Outstanding stunt coordination, 2011, for the "Graduation Day" episode of TNT's Southland, in which actor Ben McKenzie, as a rookie cop, chases a suspect across L.A. rooftops.

"The complexity of Ben's jump went far past what was seen on the screen. We needed the audience to feel the scope of what was happening — a person 165 feet in the air between two buildings, with the city in motion below."

Nom Number Two: This year, same category, same show, for the "Wednesday" episode. "We see Ben and Sammy [Shawn Hatosy] chasing the bad guy down an alley. What you don't expect is a five-ton truck to come barreling by and take out the bad guy."

In Step with Prep: "The most critical moment in a stunt comes way before you reach the set. It's the preparation, the coordination of all the departments. The performance is simply the final step."

A Lotta Love: "I love being a stunt coordinator. It's an honor and privilege to have a production entrust me with the action needs of their show. Most of all, I thank God for the opportunity to call stunt performers and give them work."

Emmy Reflections: "I am one of only nine stunt coordinators that hold this honor and realize the responsibilities that come with it. I think about how far I have come in my career, from a working stuntman, to induction into the Stuntmen's Association of Motion Pictures, to Emmy-winning stunt coordinator."

That Golden Girl: "From time to time I look at her and think, 'Man, she looks lonely. She sure could use an identical twin!'"
