Digby Wolfe, Writer, Performer, Co-Creator of Laugh-In

Born in Great Britain, Wolfe eventually moved to the U.S., where he had a major influence on television comedy.

Digby Wolfe, a Primetime Emmy-winning writer and producer who co-created the 1970s comedy series Laugh-In, died May 2, 2012, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was 82.

Wolfe, who began his career in his native England, later moved to Los Angeles, where he made the acquaintance of producer George Schlatter. Together the two men conceived the satirical comedy series Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In.

In 1968, Wolfe shared a Primetime Emmy with the Laugh-In writing staff for outstanding writing achievement in music or variety.

He also worked for many years as a comedian and actor. His TV credits included The Munsters, That Girl and I Dream of Jeannie.
