Larry Keith, Former All My Children Star, Dies at 79

Best known for the role of Nick Davis on the popular daytime drama.

Larry Keith, an actor known for decades of work on television and the stage, died July 17, 2010, in New York City. He was 79 and had been battling cancer.

Keith was best known for the role of restaurateur Nick Davis in the original cast of the daytime drama All My Children. He was also the first American to play Henry Higgins in My Fair Lady on Broadway.

Keith’s other Broadway productions include the musicals Caroline, or Change and Titanic.

He was a founder, in 1992, of the Actors Company Theater, an Off Broadway repertory company that produces seldom-performed plays.

In addition to All My Children, which premiered in 1970, his other television appearances include Law & Order and Damages.

Lawrence Jay Korn was born in Brooklyn on March 4, 1931. He changed his surname as a young actor. He earned a bachelor’s in music from Brooklyn College and did graduate work at Indiana University before being drafted. In the Army, he performed in musical revues staged to entertain American troops in Korea.

He is survived by his wife, a daughter, a brother and a grandchild.
