Actress Eugenia Paul Passes at 75
1950s TV vet left performing to devote herself to philanthropy and the arts.
Eugenia Paul, a dancer-turned-actress who appeared in numerous television series in the 1950s, died May 24, 2010, at Good Samaritan Medical Center in West Palm Beach, Florida. She was 75.
Paul, who got her start as a ballet dancer, moved to Los Angeles at 16 to pursue a performing career. She found work as a dancer with Warner Bros., and eventually began acting.
Her best known credits include the action series Zorro, in which she played the masked hero’s love interest, as well as The Lone Ranger, The Adventures of Jim Bowie and Death Valley Days.
Paul also appeared in feature films, including The Ten Commandments, The Disembodied and Gunfighters of Abilene.
In the mid-1950s, Paul married Robert Strauss, heir to the Pep Boys automotive franchise, and moved to Florida. After her marriage, she devoted herself to philanthropy and became a dedicated supporter of the arts and animal welfare.
She is survived by her husband, three children and three grandchildren.
