Rod Perry was an American film and television actor.

He is best known for portraying Sgt. David "Deacon" Kay in the 1970s television series S.W.A.T.

Perry attended Penn State on a track and field scholarship, setting a world record in the 200-meter hurdles in 1957, and served in the U.S. Army before pursuing a career in acting. He landed a recurring role in the series Barney Miller and guest starred in Project U.F.O., Good Times, Babylon Five, and the 1974 TV movie The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman.

On the big screen, Perry had leading roles in The Black Godfather (1974) and The Black Gestapo (1975), and also appeared in Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979) and S.W.A.T. (2003).

Perry died December 17, 2020. He was 86.
