Powers Boothe was an actor best known for his work on the television series Deadwood, 24, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Nashville, as well as the 1980 limited series Guyana Tragedy: The Story of Jim Jones, for which he won an Emmy Award for portraying the title character.
Additionally, Boothe appeared in the films Sin City and Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, Red Dawn, Tombstone, Nixon, U Turn, Con Air, MacGruber and The Avengers.
He also had roles on the series Justice League, Philip Marlowe, Private Eye, Moonbeam City and the miniseries Hatfields & McCoys.
The actor, who was known for playing villains, began his acting career in theater and made his Broadway debut in the late 1970s in Lone Star & Pvt. Wars.
Boothe died May 14, 2017, in Los Angeles. He was 68.
