Orson Bean was an American comedian, television personality, and actor.

A long time panelist on To Tell the Truth, Bean was also a staple on I’ve Got a Secret, Match Game, Password, What’s My Line?, and The Merv Griffin Show. He was a favorite of Johnny Carson, appearing on The Tonight Show as a guest and guest host over 200 times.

For six seasons, he played the crotchety owner of the general store in Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman and later recurred as a love interest in Desperate Housewives.

Bean guest starred on television series such as The Twilight Zone, The Love Boat, The Fall Guy, The Facts of Life, Ally McBeal, Will & Grace, Modern Family, and Grace and Frankie.

Bean died February 7, 2020, in Los Angeles, California.  He was 91.
