Mandy Patinkin is an American actor and singer.

He is a noted interpreter of the musical works of Stephen Sondheim and is known for his work in musical theater, originating iconic roles such as Georges Seurat in Sunday in the Park with George and Ché in the original Broadway production of Evita, for which he received a Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Musical.

Patinkin is well known for his portrayal of Inigo Montoya in the 1987 movie The Princess Bride. His other film credits include Yentl (1983), Alien Nation (1988), Dick Tracy (1990), and Wonder (2014).

He has appeared in major roles in television series such as Taxi, Picket Fences, The Larry Sanders Show, Homicide: Life on the Street, Touched by an Angel, Boston Public, Law & Order, Dead Like Me, and Criminal Minds.

For his role as Dr. Jeffrey Geiger on Chicago Hope, Patinkin has received two Primetime Emmy Award nominations, winning one, for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series.

In 2011, Patinkin began playing the role of counterterrorism operative Saul Berenson in the Showtime series Homeland. The role has earned him four Primetime Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series.
