Joseph Sirola

Joseph Sirola was an American actor and producer.

Following a 15-month stint in the Korean War, Sirola was working as a sales promotion manager at Kimberly-Clark when, at age 28, he decided to take an acting class at Hunter College.

Sirola would go on to appear in numerous Broadway and off-Broadway shows, including productions of The Unsinkable Molly Brown, My Fair Lady, and Pal Joey. Later in his career, Sirola became a successful Broadway producer, winning a Tony Award in 2014 for producing the musical A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder.

Sirola’s television resume includes appearances on The Untouchables, The Andy Griffith Show, Gunsmoke, Perry Mason, Get Smart, Mission: Impossible, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Hawaii Five-0 (original series), Love, American Style, Mannix, The Rockford Files, Charlie’s Angels, Simon & Simon, Silk Stalkings, NYPD Blue, Spin City, and Diagnosis Murder.

A recipient of more than two dozen Clio Awards (advertising’s equivalent to the Oscars), Sirola served as a voice-over spokesman for such products as Vicks Formula 44, Boar's Head meats and NyQuil and for such companies as Wendy's, Mobil, General Electric, Ford, Hertz and Club Med. His distinctive voice was heard on the "I Love New York" campaign and during the Empire State Building tour.

Sirola died February 10, 2019, in New York City, New York. He was 89.
