John Carl Buechler
John Carl Buechler was an American special make-up effects artist and film director.
Buechler first broke into the special effects business in 1980 with the film Dr. Heckyl And Mr. Hype, and went on to work on a number of early-1980s science fiction and horror movies like Trancers, The Dungeonmaster, The Prey, and Ghoulies.
In 1986, Buechler directed his first feature film, Troll.

Over a period of four decades, Buechler alternated between directing, writing, special effects work, and a few acting roles. He directed (and appeared in) Friday The 13th Part VII: The New Blood, as well as continuing to work on effects for the Ghoulies series, The Garbage Pail Kids Movie, A Nightmare On Elm Street 4, and Steven Spielberg's Indiana Jones: The Last Crusade.
Buechler died March 18, 2019, in Los Angeles, California. He was 66.
