McLoughlin performed and coordinated stunts in more than 40 films, including The Lion in Winter (with Peter O’Toole), The Wicker Man (with Christopher Lee), Star Wars (with Harrison Ford), Superman (with Christopher Reeve), A View to a Kill (with Roger Moore), The Mission (with Robert DeNiro), Total Recall (with Arnold Schwarzenegger), Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (with Kevin Costner), Rob Roy (with Liam Neeson), and several films connected to the Indiana Jones franchise.

McLoughlin died March 26, 2019, in Broom Lodge, Nun's Cross, Ireland. He was 80.
