Allene Roberts was an American actress.
In 1941, at age 12, Roberts beat out 85,000 contestants in the “America’s Most Charming Child” contest sponsored by the New York Daily Mirror. She won $1,000 and a screen test with Warner Bros.
Roberts made her film debut in 1947’s The Red House (with Edward G. Robinson). She went on to appear in films with some of Hollywood’s most popular leading men, including Knock On Any Door (with Humphrey Bogart), Union Station (with William Holden), and Santa Fe (with Randolph Scott).
Roberts later transitioned to television and appeared in episodes of The Adventures of Superman and Dragnet. She retired from acting in 1957.
Roberts died May 9, 2019, in Huntsville, Alabama. She was 90.
