Michael Rosenbaum, Longtime Producer for CBS News
As the network's Tel Aviv bureau chief, Rosenbaum's coverage of Middle East events earned multiple awards.
Michael Rosenbaum, a CBS News producer who served as the network's Tel Aviv bureau chief during the first Palestinian uprising against Israel, died May 17, 2012, in New York City. He was 64.
According to news reports, the cause was a brain tumor.
While serving as CBS's Tel Aviv bureau chief from 1989 to 1995, Rosenbaum, along with correspondents Bob Simon and Dan Rather, collaborated on stories in the Middle East . His field producing played a significant role in coverage of the assassination of Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin in 1995, which won a Peabody award and two Emmys.
Rosenbaum, who spent 27 years at CBS News, was also a producer for 60 Minutes and the CBS Evening News. He retired from the company in 2008.
Survivors include a brother and a sister.
