Anthony Anderson and Lauren Graham to Announce Emmy Nominations
68th Emmy Awards Nominations to be announced on July 14
The Television Academy announced that Anthony Anderson and Lauren Graham will present the nominations for the 68th Emmy Awards from the Wolf Theatre at the Academy's newly-opened Saban Media Center on Thursday, July 14 at 11:30 a.m. ET/8:30 a.m. PT.
Television Academy Chairman and CEO Bruce Rosenblum will join Anderson and Graham at the nominations ceremony, which will stream live on Emmys.com.
"Television is enjoying the most spectacular run in its history with breakthrough creativity, emerging platforms and dynamic new opportunities for our industry's storytellers," said Rosenblum. "We are thrilled to have Anthony and Lauren on board to help kick-off what promises to be an extraordinary Emmy season."
Anderson currently stars as Andre Johnson in ABC's hit series black-ish, in which he is also an executive producer. Last year, this portrayal earned him an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series. The actor and comedian also starred in his own WB sitcom, All About the Andersons, has had leading roles in K-Ville, The Shield and Law & Order and is currently hosting To Tell The Truth this summer on ABC. Additionally, Anderson has a prolific film career with roles in The Departed, Transformers and Hustle & Flow.
Graham is a celebrated actress, producer and novelist, best known for her iconic role in The WB series Gilmore Girls and is currently in production on the highly-anticipated revival for Netflix, Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life. More recently she starred as Sarah Braverman in the critically-acclaimed NBC family drama, Parenthood, and made her Broadway debut as Miss Adelaide in the revival of Guys and Dolls. Graham is also a bestselling author whose debut novel Someday, Someday, Maybe appeared on The New York Times Best Sellers List.
The Television Academy has tapped veteran awards show producer Bob Bain to produce the nominations ceremony as well as this year's Creative Arts Awards and Los Angeles Area Emmy Awards.
The 68th Emmy Awards, including the star-studded Red Carpet preshow, will telecast live from The Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, Sunday, September 18 (7:00-11:00 p.m. ET/4:00-8:00 p.m. PT) on ABC. Emmy Award-winning live television and event producer Don Mischer will executive produce the broadcast hosted by Jimmy Kimmel.
