Lizzy Caplan is an American actress currently staring as pioneering researcher Virginia Johnson in the Showtime drama Masters of Sex.
Caplan’s first on-screen role was as Sara in Judd Apatow’s cult classic Freaks and Geeks. Her breakout role came with the 2004 hit movie Mean Girls where she played sardonic social outsider Janis Ian. She is also known for playing Casey Klein in TV series Party Down. The critically acclaimed series earned an AFI Award in 2009. Caplan also played Marjee Sorelli in Related and Kat Warbler on The Class. She was named one of 10 Actors to Watch by the Daily Variety in 2006. Recently she had memorable guest arcs on New Girl and True Blood.
On the big screen, Caplan starred in Save the Date, Cloverfield, Hot Tub Time Machine and Love is a Drug.
A singer as well as an actor, Caplan can be heard singing “You Don’t Know Me” in the first season of Masters of Sex.
